In regards to the effect of Ghanaian artists within this industry, groups such as Ruff-n-Smooth have been playing a major role in the evolution of Ghanaian music.
Their debut album as a group has the ever popular song, ‘Swagger’ which turned out to be a rebirth of these young musicians and their just recently released single “Dance for Me” to the world stage and are back at it again.

The dynamic duo just returned from a musical tour in UK, Canada, Equatorial Guinea… just to mention but a few. Ruff-n-Smooth will be performing Live in Concert at the Silver Lounge, Accra Mall on the 1st of July, 2013. Time is 5:00pm & 20Ghc for tickets. It Was Fake: Chris Brown speaks out about smoking weed in Ghana

RnB bad boy, Chris Brown has finally spoken out on his much talked about performance he Ghana were it was alleged that he smoked marijuana on stage. Answering a question about the police wanting to arrest him for smoking weed overseas, on ‘The Breakfast Club’ show on Power 105.1 radio, the singer said it was a fake ‘weed’.   He said:

“There’s a thing I did on my whole tour called smoke by the brain..so there’s a part of the show that goes to a collage of all the songs that talk about weed..and everybody knows I have a medical cause for marijuana  but for me I don’t smoke it on stage…its a fake light like the way they have the pre-rolled tobacco.. so at every show I fake it..now that I gave the secret away..but in certain cities like Amsterdam and LA i definitely did..but as far as in places where I can get into trouble I  avoid it. It was the press over there that made a big fuss about the whole thing, everything else was cool.It was just the press, so it made it seem like it was a situation but it wasn’t. ”

Shame on Chris Brown for bringing “weed” to a concert – Darwin Hobbs

There seems to be no end in sight to the Chris Brown “weed” saga as renowned international gospel musician, Darwin Hobbs has also condemned the actions of the American music star.

Darwin Hobbs, who graced this year’s Harvest Praise concert at the Accra International Conference Centre on Good Friday, March 29, believes that Chris Brown did not leave a good legacy during his performance in the country.

Chris Brown was alleged to have smoked “weed” on stage during his performance at the Hope City concert at the Accra Sports Stadium on March 5.

The act has received a lot of flak from civil society organizations and the general public. Notable voices that condemned the act included Minister of State and Member of Parliament for Wa Central, Rashid Pelpuo and Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, Most Reverend Charles Palmer-Buckle.

Organizers of the concert, Charter House, categorically denied media reports that the music star smoked “weed” during his performance at the event. According to the events outfit, Chris Brown smoked a cigar, not marijuana.

Darwin Hobbs, known for several hits songs including He’s Able, giving his thoughts on the incident during an interview on TV3 said: “You brought Kush (weed) to a concert?”

“Who does that?” he further quizzed and added that: “Shame on you [Breezy],” for smoking on stage.

The police announced Monday, March 11 that they had commenced investigations into allegations that Chris Brown smoked “weed” on stage during his performance at the concert.
